Controlled Competition 08/08/10

With 4 weeks to go before the Voluntary Levels Competition North Walsham tested 5 of its members at a 'mock' competition.

Used Ink Cartridges

We are collecting used ink cartridges to raise money for the club. Please hand them in to any coach - no Epson or Brother toners please! Thank you.

Norfolk County Squad

On the 30th May North Walsham Gymnastics Club invited 6 of their gymnasts to take part in the development section of the Norfolk County Squad. The event was held at Norwich Gymnastics Club. Many new moves were achieved in the short space of 3 hrs.

QUALIFICATIONS: Womens Artistic Level 3. General Gym Level 1. Emergency Aid in the Workplace for Appointed Persons. Safeguarding and Protecting Children. Club Management Awareness. CRB. BA Hons Media. Defibrulator course. Equity in your coaching. Cheerleading Level 2

HISTORY: Was a member of The Norwich Priory Gymnastics Club until it closed in 1993, participating in various squads and competitions including winning the title of Norfolk County Champion. Went on to compete for North Walsham High school and was Norfolk Schools County Champion in 1996, 1997, 1998. Set up 'The Club' in 2001 (See Club History). Coached gymnasts to regional level. By 2003 set up clubs in 7 primary/junior schools (See School/Club Links)

HOBBIES: Mum to Ava, Gymnastics, Ice skating, Meals out, Shopping

AMBITIONS: To become a Level 4 Coach and Womens Artistic Judge. Coach gymnasts to National level. To move club to a purpose built facility.

Patricia Johnson (Welfare Officer & Treasurer)

Qualifications: Teacher 11-18years 1967-2001. Sports centre manager 2001-2007. Retired 2007

Hobbies - Swimming, Tennis, Reading, Grandchildren of whom I have five, 3 grandaughters and 2 grandsons.

Ambitions - Visit New Zealand and possibly Australia.

Qualifications: Level 2 WAG, Club Management, First Aid FAW, Child Protection, CRB, A Level Art & Photography

History: Was a member of NWGC until the age of 13 under Alexis Thurston & Vickie March. Completed all B.A.G.A awards including Bronze Award. Started coaching in 2007

Hobbies: Art, Photography, Dancing, Badminton, Gymnastics, Flute, St Johns Ambulance

Ambitions: To Study Illustration at University.

Roxanne Demmen (Coach)

Qualifications: Level 1 assistant coach trampolining gymnastics, Level 2 coach trampolining gymnastics, Level 1 assistant coach womens artistic gymnastics.

Hobbies: trampolining, hill walking, rock climbing, outdoor pursuits and going out with friends.

Ambitions: to go to Derby University and continue coaching where I can.

History: Was a member at NWGC until 2 years ago when I went on to coaching.

Hobbies: trampolining, gymnastics, shopping and going out with friends.

Ambitions: When i finish school to go to college to further my education. To carry on coaching and train to be a level 2 coach.

Hobbies: Mum to Amy and Harley, Gymnastics, My Horses, eating out with my Boyfriend and going out with the girls!

Ambitions: To train to be a Level 3 coach, to have more children, to buy a barn to convert (must have a stable!) and to have a nice car!

History: Job-extended schools co-ordinator-organising holiday/after school activities for adults and children but also manage 'Inclusion Unit' during term time at Cromer High School.

Qualifications: GCSE's A levels + Degree in Humanities with literature

Hobbies: Reading running/cycling/ pilates and Mario Kart Wii! Watching films and travelling. Enjoy spending time with family and friends and eating carrot cake! Hate feet/long toe nails/hairy backs, cellulite!, bad table manners and bullies!

Ambitions: to become Primary School Teacher

History: Working in the IT industry.

Qualifications: O'Levels and A'Levels, a DipHE in Computing and a few IT qualifications

Hobbies: Walking/rambling, watching TV and reading
